Chris Hudson MBE
Cutlery Hospital is part of Chimo Holdings from where it gets its expertise and craftsmanship. The various Companies, especially “Tricketts of Sheffield” had been doing repairs for many years using their teams of skilled craftsmen & women. Then in 1997 it was decided to formalise the repair department under the brand name “Cutlery Hospital”…
Cutlery Hospital by its very name specialises in Cutlery, the majority of which is Table cutlery. We are experts in replacing old Creamhandled knives with new dishwasher safe handles, but we also replace/restore damaged handles in stainless steel, silverplate and even sterling silver.
We replace old blades, replate silverplated cutlery, repair stag-handled Carver & steak handles that have come loose and even mend Carving Fork Springs…the list goes on & on. Satisfied customers often ask us to replate holloware items like gallery trays, salvers even trophies. Whatever the requirement please email us a photo first.
We have over 300 years of experience in this field.
However, the big break came when we developed the dishwasher safe handles for our popular cream-handled knife ranges. Members of the public started asking instead of buying new knives could we replaced the old & damaged handles on their treasured knives and family heirlooms. One thing led to another and not only were we replacing handles but also blades, replating cutlery pieces and it started to arrive from all over the world including UK, USA, Canada, Africa, Australia & New Zealand, Scandinavia, the EU and Russia.
The more the team do the more they love to give these treasured pieces a whole new lease of life. But the ultimate “buzz” is to hear or see the pleasure the owner gets when their refurbished cherished item(s) are returned.
